fused glass trends and ideas for summer 2025
30 July 2025

Is there a better way to round off July? We think not. Today, we’re going to be chatting about all things fused glass trends, new ideas, and innovations for summer 2025. If you haven’t tried your hand at glass fusing yet, this could be your sign…
At molten wonky, you’ll already know that fused glass is our everything all year round. But, isn’t there something about fused glass and summer that just makes so much sense? Maybe it’s the bright colours, the bubbly textures, or the childlike creativity of being able to craft something with your own two hands.
Anyway, enough of us oogling over fused glass (we do that a lot here). Here are the top fused glass trends to be aware of. Maybe you can implement some of them into your own designs using our fused glass kits, or even better, at our open studio events and glass fusing workshops?
what are the latest fused glass trends for 2025?
2025 seems to be the year of fused glass decorations, and they’re going from pretty and colourful to more bold, feel-good, and playful than ever before. Plus, with the rise of dopamine decor taking the younger (and older!) generations by storm, there’s never been a better time to hop on the glass fusing bandwagon.
Here are the fused glass trends we’re loving so far this year:
1. Quirky, colourful designs — with extra personality

Fused glass is sparking joy and generating toothy grins left, right, and centre. Why? Because fused glass ornaments are now featuring oodles of personality as well as colour.
Just take a look at our smiley Sunshine, cheeky Seagull, and chillaxed Blue Whale fused glass hanging decorations. You can’t help yourself but have a giggle! These three make such a jolly trio, perfect for gifting or hanging up in your own home.
2. Layers, layers… and more layers!

Layering is a great way to give your fused glass creations more depth and tactility, and more and more fused glass artists are using layering to turn 2D designs into 3D glass art.
Our Pink Cupcake, Blue Beach Hut, and Orange & Yellow Fish all showcase fused glass layering in action. The result? Raised lines, satisfying bubble-effect textures, and smooth ridges to give your ornament or hanging decoration just that little bit extra.
It is 2025, after all.
3. Make-at-home fused glass kits

Accessibility has been a key buzzword over the last few years — and that doesn’t stop when it comes to the glass fusing world!
With the cost of living on the rise, make-at-home fused glass kits are offering creatives a chance to showcase their designs from the comfort of home. Some of our most popular include:
And the best part is, it’s not just a bit of crafty fun, it’s so much more! Only now are people starting to see how easy it is to create their own bespoke home decorations with DIY kits — and long may it continue.
4. Nature-inspired fused glass decorations
From flowers and bees to birds and rainbows, nature always comes out on top as the best inspiration for fused glass gifts and decorations. We think it’s the colours, the zingy yellows, juicy reds, and calming greens — full of feel-good factor.
Which leads us on nicely to…
which colours are trending in glass art this summer?

It’s the season of the sun, and it calls for colour. We’re lucky that glass art is quite a colourful medium anyway, but there are the summer’s top hues that make our job extra cheerful and bright:
- Sunset shades: Oranges, corals, ambers, and plush pinks are finding their well-earned place in fused glass mandalas, sun catchers, and wall hangings. They have a magical glow when the light hits just right.
- Bright, zesty colours: Zingy electric greens, ultra turquoise, and lemony yellow are solidifying their presence on everything! Take a look at the colours used in our funky fused glass blooms and wonky bowls, for example.
- Earth tones with bright accents: Bringing a welcome bit of balance, grounding neutrals are back in the game. Swamp greens, terracotta reds, and calming blues are being paired with brighter neutral accents.
- Rainbow blocking: Yes, the rainbow is still going strong! From multi-coloured stripes and grids to patterns, rainbows will always be a best-loved choice for fused glass decorations. Did you know we have a whole fused glass rainbow range?
