What is a molten wonky Workshop

Katie has been running glass fusing Workshops from her studio in Essex for over five years. She has created a wide selection of different types of Workshops so that everyone can have fun and enjoy being creative with glass. If you live too far away and can't get to the studio you can still enjoy making your own decorations with one of our Make at Home Glass Fusing Kits - please see Kits page for loads of info.

You can enjoy a drop-in session as part of an Open Studio event, a Party Workshop that runs for approx one and a half to two hours or make a larger piece of work in the Three Hour Workshop.

So, what is a Glass Fusing Workshop? Katie likes to encourage you to be creative - 'OH NO' we hear some of you cry, 'I'm not creative' but Katie will say "oh yes you are!" Everyone is. All you need is the desire to make something colourful in glass and you're half way there.  

You choose the shape you want to make, the selection includes a Coaster, a Picture, a Rainbow or a Sun Catcher. This is called a clear glass template. Next, you draw around this shape and do a simple sketch within the lines. Then you lay the template over the sketch, add some glue and start adding the colours, shapes and fragments you like. Easy peazy ; )

It's an amazingly simple and effective way to create your very own personalised gifts and decorations.

Your work then gets fired in one of our kilns and will be ready to collect the following week. We can post your work to you for an extra £5.

Katie's glass fusing workshops run all year round and can be held in her studio near Hempstead, Essex or at your own venue.
