Our suncatcher kit is all about colour and creativity. Each make your own suncatcher kit includes everything you’ll need to create:
- One long fused glass suncatcher, measuring approximately 5 x 20 cm
- One smaller suncatcher, measuring approximately
Once hung in a window, your transparent rainbow glass design can catch the sunlight and throw little bursts of colour all around your room!

Your DIY suncatcher kit will arrive ready packed and ready to go. Open the box to reveal…
- Step-by-step instructions
- Paper for sketching your rainbow suncatcher design (or skip this step and go freehand!)
- PVA glue and lolly stick for application
- An generous array of rainbow-themed glass frits, rods, and fragments
- Tweezers for placing the smaller pieces
- Clear glass templates for both suncatcher sizes
- Name and return address slip (you’ll need to send your suncatchers back to us so we can fire them in the kiln!)
Our make at home suncatcher fused glass kits have been put together with creativity in mind. Each kit is marvellously unique, filled with hand-cut templates and specially-selected fragments. Just add a cuppa and your imagination, and you’ll be good to go.
how to use your DIY rainbow suncatcher kit
When you receive your kit, carefully unpack it onto a clean work surface. Make sure to keep hold of any packaging, too. You’ll need it to return your suncatchers back to us for firing!
When you’re ready, follow the steps below to create your rainbow suncatchers…
- Using the glass templates as an outline, sketch your suncatcher designs onto the sketching paper provided. Do you want them to match or to showcase different patterns? Think stripes, shapes, or you can even go straight to the next step if you’d rather a more freehand approach.
- Place each glass template over its sketched design and apply a small amount of glue to your chosen starting area.
- Arrange the glass fragments onto the glued section of the glass template. Keep adding glue and layering the fragments over the top until your suncatchers are bursting with rainbow colours.
- When you’re finished, leave your suncatchers somewhere safe to dry for 24 hours.
- Carefully wrap up your suncatchers in paper towel, and pop them back into the box.
- Fill out the return address slip and send your creations back to our Essex glass fusing studio for firing.
Top tip: It can be helpful to take a picture of your designs before popping them back into the box. This will give us a reference to work from if any pieces shift during transit (which can happen!)
when will I receive my finished suncatchers?
Your finished rainbow suncatchers will be returned to you within 2-3 weeks.
When your creations arrive back to us, we will kiln-fire your designs to turn them into smooth, glossy hanging decorations. We’ll then add hanging rings and ribbons so your DIY suncatchers will be ready to display as soon as they arrive on your doorstep.

Our fused glass kits have been made for adult use. This is because they contain raw, unfired glass which can be quite sharp and potentially cause injury if handled incorrectly. However, older children can take part under close supervision.
Please clear and clean your workspace thoroughly after crafting, and handle all materials with care at all times.
Care for your product
To keep your wonky products looking lovely, wipe them gently with a damp cloth and dry with a cotton tea towel.
Handle your molten wonky products carefully, they are all made from fused glass and are breakable. If this happens please be careful of sharp fragments.

Returns Policy
We know you'll love your purchase but just in case you change your mind you have fourteen days after delivery to return your goods.
The return item must be in its original condition, with all packaging materials, manuals, and any accessories intact.
