Why glass fusing is the perfect crafty hen do activity
21 May 2025

Hen do season is upon us, and summer brides across the country are starting their searches for the best crafty hen do ideas (or crafty bachelorette party ideas, for our friends across the pond!) to entertain their bridal clan.
At molten wonky, we believe that, while there’s something very wholesome about getting the whole gang together, there’s also something even more special about getting together and creating together.
Hen do crafts are a great way to do this — they’re a lot of fun, a bit different, and oh-so creative — all while providing a heartfelt keepsake from the celebration!
So, if you’re looking for something meaningful, colourful, and magical to add to your crafty hen do, read on to learn how.
How to add glass fusing to your hen do celebration
Craft-inspired hen dos are no one-size-fits-all, so we have a few different ways for you to sprinkle some glass fusing magic on yours. From DIY kits to assisted options for a helping hand, it’s your crafty hen done your way.
1. Host your own fused glass party with our DIY glass fusing kits
Feeling confident in your crafting abilities? So you should! Our fused glass kits are a fun and flexible hen party activity that can easily fit around the rest of your plans. Order a kit for each hen, and host your own glass fusing session from home.
We also offer a discounted bundle that includes four fused glass kits. Here are some of our most popular ones…
Each kit contains everything you need to design and assemble your piece — all you’ll need to do is send it back to us. We’ll then fire your pieces in our kiln and finish them off with hanging ribbons, ready to send to you or for collection.

2. Have Katie bring the workshop to you!
For a more hands-on experience with hen party groups of eight or more, Katie will come to your home (or wherever you’re staying) to host an at-home fused glass workshop for you.
She will bring all the tools, materials, and skills straight to your door (with just a little extra for fuel and to post your fired pieces back to you if required). All she’ll need is a table and enough chairs to accommodate your guests, as well as a vacuum cleaner to clear the area once you’re all finished.
Katie’s at-home glass fusing workshops usually last around two hours, and you can choose almost any kits you like for your hen party. All creations will be individually packaged into a molten wonky branded box and sent back to the host if you cannot collect from our Essex studio.
Feel free to email katie.lynn@moltenwonky.co.uk or call 07974 112 535 if you’d like Katie to host for you.
3. Visit our glass fusing studio in Essex for the full experience

Why are crafty hen do ideas so popular?
If you have a hen weekend filled with activities and trips out, crafts can help slow down the pace, or they can hold their own as the main event! They also don’t require anyone to be an expert. All your fellow hens need is a colourful imagination and a willingness to try something new.
What makes glass fusing a fun hen do activity?
With glass fusing, there’s no pressure. It’s a bit of planning here, a bit of assembling there, and a whole load of satisfaction when you receive or collect your fired and finished fused glass decoration.
It’s a craft that brings people together, and it just so happens to be a lovely, no-pressure icebreaker, too!
You’ll all be working with beautifully bright pre-cut pieces of glass frits, fragments, stringers, and provided with everything else you need to create your own fused glass masterpiece, whether that’s a heart, a suncatcher, a mini rainbow, or something else positively lovely.
If you’re looking for Essex hen do ideas that your friends will be talking about for years after, we’re happy to say you’ve just found it!
