what does your mini Easter egg glass fusing kit include?
Beginners and keen crafters alike are in for a treat with our flower garden mini Easter egg kit. Open up the box to find:
- Step-by-step instructions
- Plain paper for sketching your design ideas
- PVA glue and a lolly stick for spreading it
- A unique selection of colourful glass fragments, frits, and rods
- Tweezers (for picking up and placing the fiddly small fragments)
- Three clear glass Easter egg templates
- Name and return address slip (so we can send your mini Easter eggs back to you once they’ve been fired in the kiln)
how to use your DIY fused glass kit
Start by carefully opening the box containing your glass fusing kit and unpacking the contents onto a clear, clean workspace. Set the packaging aside, but keep hold of it so you can pop your mini Easter eggs in the post so we can fire them at the molten wonky studio.
You may wish to sort the fragments, frits, and rods into shapes or colours so you can easily find stems and petals for your flower garden design.
Follow our step-by-step instructions, remembering to have fun and get creative!
- Get your sketching paper and draw around the mini Easter egg templates. This will give you a nice space for planning your flower garden design.
- Place one of the glass templates over your sketched design and apply a thin layer of glue using the lolly stick.
- Add your chosen glass fragments, sticking them onto the egg shape. If you want to build up layers, ensure everything is secured well with glue.
- Repeat the process with the other two glass Easter eggs.
- Once you’re happy with your mini glass Easter eggs, put them somewhere safe so they can dry for 24 hours.
- Carefully wrap your glass Easter eggs in paper towels and pack them carefully into the original packaging.
- Complete the return address slip and post your creations back to us here at Pop it molten wonky.
Top tip: Take a picture of your glass Easter eggs before posting them. This will provide a visual reference so that, if any pieces come loose in transit, we can make sure they’re back in the right place before firing your designs in our kiln.
what happens when your glass Easter eggs arrive at the molten wonky studio?
We’ll double-check that your mini Easter eggs are exactly as you’d like them, then place them in the kiln for approximately 14 hours. This will fuse all the glass pieces together.
Once your Easter egg decorations have cooled, we’ll attach a ring and ribbon so you can hang them up. We’ll then send your unique fused glass art back to you so you can proudly display your work.
You will receive your completed pieces within two to three weeks.
