DIY glass coaster kit: flower garden
If you’re keen to get creative and make your own handy homeware, our DIY fused glass coaster kit is the perfect craft for you. It contains everything you need to make a glass coaster with a beautiful flower garden design.
Get the kettle on, clear a work surface, and enjoy trying your hand at fused glass art.
what’s in your flower garden glass coaster kit?
Our make-at-home fused glass kits offer a lovely introduction to the art of glass fusing. Your DIY coaster kit will arrive in the post, complete with:
- Easy-to-follow instructions
- Plain paper for sketching your flower garden design
- A 10cm x 10cm square coaster template, made from clear glass
- PVA glue and a lolly stick to apply it with
- A generous selection of glass frits, rods and fragments in a variety of colours
- Tweezers for picking up and positioning tiny pieces of glass
- A return address label (this lets us post your glass coaster back to you once it’s been fused in the kiln)
how to make your fused glass coaster
Carefully unbox your make-at-home glass fusing kit and make sure you have everything you need. Some people like to sort the glass fragments into shapes and colours as part of the creative process. Alternatively, you can just crack on!
- Draw around your glass coaster template, then sketch out your flower garden design onto the supplied paper. Go for whichever colour and shape combinations you like.
- Lay the glass template over your paper designs and add a small layer of glue so you can stick the colourful fragments to the template.
- Build up your flower design, making sure all pieces are glued down firmly.
- Once you’re happy with your glass coaster design, set it aside somewhere safe for the glue to dry and leave it for at least 24 hours.
- Wrap your fused glass coaster in kitchen roll or tissue paper to keep it safe in transit, then pack it back in the box your kit arrived in. Please also add the tweezers and any glass fragments you have left over.
- Write your name and address on the return paper, then pop everything inside the envelope with the molten wonky address on it
- Send it off in the post!
Top tip: Take a quick photo of your fused glass coaster before packing it away in the postal box. If any fragments get dislodged on the way back to the molten wonky studio, we’ll be able to reference the photo and stick everything back in the right place before firing your coaster in the kiln.
when will your fused glass coaster be sent back to you?
We aim to return your completed fused glass coaster to you within 2-3 weeks of it arriving at our studio.
When it gets back to us, we’ll place your coaster in the kiln and fire it so that your design fuses together, creating a beautiful piece of fused glass artwork.

We’ve designed our DIY fused glass kits for adults. They contain raw, unfired glass, which can be sharp, so please ensure any older children having a go are supervised by an adult at all times. We do not recommend our glass fusing kits for young children.
Please take care when handling glass fragments, and ensure you clear and wipe down your work surface after creating your fused glass coaster to remove any shards.
Care for your product
To keep your wonky products looking lovely, wipe them gently with a damp cloth and dry with a cotton tea towel.
Handle your molten wonky products carefully, they are all made from fused glass and are breakable. If this happens please be careful of sharp fragments.
