What’s in the Glass Fusing kit?

  • Return envelope with stamps

  • Glass template

  • Glass fragments

  • PVA glue

  • Lolly stick

  • Tweezers

How to Create With Your Fused Glass Kit

When you kit arrives we know you will be keen to get started but there are a few things that will help you get the most out of your creative experience.

Firstly, open the kit box by slicking the sticker thats holding it together and unpack the kit on to a clear table.

Our fused glass kits contain all the items mentioned above.   If you haven’t created with a molten wonky glass fusing kit before you need to read the instructions as they explain about the glass and the process.

If you want to, you can sort the glass into their various shapes and colours and see what you have - each bag is unique so it can be a lovely, calming part of the design process.

You can then sketch a simple design on the paper; you just need to find a pencil and your imagination for this bit, although this is completely optional. Maybe make a cup of tea ….

Once you’re ready to start creating with your fused glass kit, lay your glass template over the design (if you’ve sketched one out) and add some PVA glue using a lolly stick. It’s always better to use less glue as you can always add more later if need be.

Add your glass fragments using the tweezers in the shape of your design. You can add glass on top of glass, but ensure that the bottom fragment(s) are glued down before doing so and any additions are also glued.

Once you’re happy with your new glass art decoration, leave it somewhere safe to dry for 24 hours.

Note : Take a picture of your design before putting it in the packaging provided to send back to us - just in case anything comes loose in the post!  Katie will be in touch if she needs to see this image.

Once each piece of glass is stuck in place and the glue is dry, pack everything back in the box. If its rattling about add more tissue to stop this and you can wrap the template in kitchen roll to protect your fused glass art. Everything gets reused and recycled so please send everything back.

When your make at home fused glass kit comes back to our studio, we will fire your work in our glass kiln and add rings and ribbons so you can hang up your glass art once we send it back to you.  This normally takes a couple of weeks.

Get creative with friends and family and enjoy making your own fused glass decorations from molten wonky kits together. They are wonderful keepsake memories. If you have any questions or queries, get in touch and we’ll always be happy to help.
